The Miamisburg Vikings hit the road Friday night and returned home with a 28-14 victory over the Northmont Thunderbolts. The game didn't start smoothly for the Vikings, as two first-half fumbles threatened to derail their momentum early. Despite the setbacks, Miamisburg rallied to take a 14-7 lead into halftime, showing resilience and poise in a high-stakes road environment.
Coming out of the break, the Vikings wasted little time extending their lead. Brayden Carpenter found the end zone in the third quarter, pushing the score to 21-7. Northmont responded with a touchdown of their own, narrowing the gap to seven as the game entered the final quarter. The momentum appeared to be shifting, but the Miamisburg defense stood tall with a massive goal-line stop after a controversial remeasurement on a critical fourth-down conversion.
The Vikings capitalized on the defensive stand with a clock-chewing drive that effectively sealed the game. A huge gain by Chrys Ngoh helped flip the field, and the offense finished the drive with a final score to put the game out of reach. Ngoh turned in a strong performance, racking up 91 rushing yards and 52 receiving. Quarterback Tytus Bettendorf managed the game efficiently through the air and punched in two touchdowns on quarterback sneaks.
With the win, Miamisburg improves its record and builds momentum heading into the final week of the regular season. The Vikings will look to close out their campaign on a high note this Friday night when they travel to face rival Springboro.
