On Saturday, October 11, the Miamisburg Viking Marching Band took the field at the legendary Ohio Stadium on the campus of The Ohio State University in Columbus as part of the 2025 Buckeye Invitational. This prestigious event, sanctioned by the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA), serves as a qualifier for the OMEA State Marching Band Finals.

Performing among 44 total ensembles—32 competing for caption awards and 12 festival-class groups, Miamisburg was awarded third place overall among the 32 competing bands and earned unanimous Superior ratings from all judges, again securing their qualification for the OMEA State Marching Band Finals.

Classified as AA by OMEA, based on enrollment of 901+ students in grades 10–12, this marks the Viking Band’s second OMEA event of the season. The ensemble continues its strong momentum after sweeping all awards at last week’s Versailles Invitational.
